Status of the ANAIS experiment at Canfranc

چکیده
The present status of the ANAIS experiment (Annual Modulation with NaI’s) is shown. ANAIS is intended to use more than 100 kg of NaI(Tl) in the Canfranc Underground Laboratory (Spain) searching for seasonal modulation effects in the WIMP signal; in a first stage, a prototype (one single 10.7 kg crystal) has been developed in order to obtain the best conditions regarding the energy threshold and the radioactive background in the low energy region as well as to check the stability of the environmental conditions. The first results corresponding to an exposure of 2069.85 kg day show an average background level of 1.2 counts/(keV kg day) from threshold (Ethr ∼ 4 keV, even using one single photomultiplier) up to 10 keV.

Status and preliminary results of the ANAIS experiment at Canfranc
ANAIS (Annual Modulation with NaI’s) is an experiment planned to investigate seasonal modulation effects in the signal of galactic WIMPs using up to 107 kg of NaI(Tl) in the Canfranc Underground Laboratory (Spain). A prototype using one single crystal (10.7 kg) is being developed before the installation of the complete experiment; the first results presented here show an average background leve...

متن کاملNew Constraints on Wimps from the Canfranc Igex Dark Matter Search
The IGEX Collaboration enriched Ge double-beta decay detectors are currently operating in the Canfranc Underground Laboratory with an overburden of 2450 m.w.e. A recent upgrade has made it possible to use them in a search for WIMPs. A new exclusion plot, σ(m), has been derived for WIMP-nucleon spin-independent interaction. To obtain this result, 30 days of data from one IGEX detector, which has...
متن کاملFirst Results of the Rosebud Dark Matter Experiment
ROSEBUD (Rare Objects SEarch with Bolometers UndergrounD) is an experiment which attempts to detect low mass Weak Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs) through their elastic scattering off Al and O nuclei. It consists of three small sapphire bolometers (of a total mass of 100 g) with NTD-Ge sensors in a dilution refrigerator operating at 20 mK in the Canfranc Underground Laboratory. We report i...
متن کاملPhysics Potential of Sps Upgrade in Regard to Beta/ec Beams
The goal for future neutrino facilities is the determination of the [Ue3] mixing and CP violation in neutrino oscillations. This will require precision experiments with a very intense neutrino source. With this objective the creation of neutrino beams from the radioactive decay of boosted ions by the SPS of CERN from either beta or electron capture transitions has been propossed. We discuss the...
